We are pleased to share that McKinnis has successfully written and choreographed the original ballet "Reflective Transparency: The Inner Beauty", which is a work that began in 2015 and was performed in 2016 and again in 2017.  With the assistance of a grant from the East Central Arts Council, McKinnis is now able to write part two of the Reflective Transparency: The Inner Beauty series entitled "Our Volitant Province" to be performed in May of 2018.  We will soon create part three "Luminous Splendor" anticipating a June of 2019 production.
These ballets include original music composed by Andy & Kathryn Karg of 2getherproductions from St. Paul, MN.

Another key element of our studio is that we focus on mentoring our students, not only as it relates to the performing arts, but also as it related to learning leadership skills and life skills.  MENTORING takes place at all levels within out studio - McKinnis models and intentionally fosters this environment and has seen the benefit over time with many of our students.  Seeing sisters become best of friends is a blessing.

Bronte has been with In His Steps Ballet since the age of four.  Bronte brings many attributes to our studio, including her keen ability to demonstrate emotional connectedness to her strong technical training.  We are pleased to share that Bronte has successfully performed and received talent recognition at our Minnesota State Fair where she has placed in the semi-finals multiple years.  She most recently has been accepted into the Joffrey Ballet Summer intensive program in NYC where she received specific classical ballet, jazz, flamenco, and horton training.  Mrs. Lisa traveled with Bronte to attend the Joffrey in NYC and list this as one of our highlight events within our studio!  Bronte is now learning to become a lead instructor in our Thursday preschool program.

Maria has been dancing with In His Steps Ballet since the age of three.  Maria has placed as a semi-finalist in the Minnesota State Fair three years in a row. Maria has performed in multiple roles including our multiple disciplines of creating writing, crafts and projects, character development, and her choreography.  She is also learning the ropes of costuming and the business aspects of running a studio.  Maria will be our lead teacher for our preschool class this season and will assist in teaching along side Natasha and Carmen in our more advanced classes.   Maria is one of our studio's most emotionally intuitive dancers as can be seen in her solo work and her roles with the corp.   Maria's long-term goals include not only dance, but possibly engineering.
This is Maria as a peacock in her first production with our studio.
