Classes Offerings

Please note not all classes are offered every session. Class offerings are adjusted every session based on number of enrolled students in each level.
Our program is based on a foundation of classical ballet training.   It is our belief that with proper ballet training all other forms of dance can be learned and learned well.  Ballet provides training in proper body alignment, strength building of the entire body, along with an in-depth awareness between mind, body and spirit as it relates to the art form of dance.

Class Offerings

Preschool Class
This class is 30 minute long and is for ages 2 1/2 to 5.
Preschool is the perfect time to capture the musicality within your child.  The connection of music with movement improves the development of motor skills.  The preschool class will learn the five fundamental positions of the feet and arms, port de bras (carriage of the arms), and an introductory overview of ballet terminology and movement. Our preschool class also engages in creative movement and expressive freestyle.  Maria is our primary instructor for our preschool class - under the supervision of Mrs. Lisa.  This class meets Mondays, 3:00 - 3:30 pm. Preschool class will perform in our Christmas 2017 production, Friday, December 1st, at the Richard Hardy Performing Arts Center at 6:00 pm.

Beginner Ballet & Tap Class: This class is 60 minutes and is for age range 6 to 10.    This is also a good place for a beginner student who is five years and older.  The class is broken down into 45 minutes of ballet and 15 minutes of tap.  Students begin to learn stretch and strength & barre exercises, centre work, and across the floor work in demi-pointe.  This class meets Tuesday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.

Elite Petite: This class runs for 60 minutes twice a week for ages 6-13. It includes both ballet and tap. It is an intensive class focusing on technique for younger advanced students. Students who participate in Elite Petite show a high motivation for learning technique and the artistry of classical ballet.  Core strengthening is a routine part of this class along with advanced stretching exercises.   Most, but not all, students in this class have indicated an interest in preparing for prepointe and pointe class in the future.  This class meets both Monday and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Note: Prepointe students are those who are on track for pointe shoes but may be too young or are still needing further technique training and strengthening.  Most prepointe students participate in a semi-private class as his or her third day requirement.

Prepointe/Pointe Class:  This class runs for 90 minutes and teacher's approval is required. This class meets three times a week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  Monday class includes an extra 15 minutes of choreography time.
